Bio
Bob Balaban is an actor-producer-writer-director. He’s appeared nearly 100 movies, including Midnight Cowboy, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Waiting for Guffman, and, most recently, Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom. His directing work includes Bernard and Doris (HBO), Georgia O’Keeffe (Lifetime), Parents, The Last Good Time, and “Nurse Jackie” (Showtime). He has been nominated for an Oscar, a Tony, four Emmys, a Producers Guild Award, two Directors Guild Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards, one of which he won, for his work as part of the ensemble of Gosford Park, a film he also produced.
