Bio

Jonathan Spector's play EUREKA DAY premiered at Aurora Theater in Berkeley, and received all of the SF Bay Area’s new play awards: Glickman Award, Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award, Theatre Bay Area Award & Rella Lossy Award. It then had a sold out run in New York with Colt Coeur, where it was a New York Times Critics' Pick and an "Honorable Mention" in Time Out New York's Best Plays of 2019. It was subsequently produced at Mosaic Theater, InterAct Theater, Spreckles Theater, and the State Theater of South Australia (upcoming).

Other plays including THIS MUCH I KNOW, WHAT COMES NEXT, and GOOD. BETTER. BEST. BESTED. have been developed at Roundabout Theater Company, South Coast Rep, Berkeley Rep's Ground Floor, Playwrights Center, PlayPenn, New Harmony Project, Portland Stage, Bay Area Playwrights Festival, Crowded Fire, Custom Made Theater and San Francisco Playhouse. Jonathan is the recipient of South Coast Rep’s Elizabeth George Commission, a MacDowell Colony Fellow, a former Resident Playwright at Playwrights Foundation, and is currently a Core Writer at The Playwrights Center in Minneapolis.
