Sheri Wilner is of author of Kingdom City, Father Joy, Hunger, Bake Off, Labor Day, Relative Strangers, Little Death of a Salesman, and Joan of Arkansas and have been performed at major regional and national theatres including the Guthrie Theater, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Summer Play Festival, Naked Angels, Philadelphia Theatre Company, Contemporary American Theater Festival, The Women’s Project, New Georges, Ensemble Studio Theatre, O’Neill Playwrights’ Conference and Primary Stages. Playwriting awards include a Howard Foundation Fellowship, a Bush Artist Fellowship, two Playwrights’ Center Jerome Fellowships and two Heideman Awards, granted by the Actors Theatre of Louisville; in 1998 for Labor Day, which premiered at the 1999 Humana Festival, and in 2001 for Bake Off, which premiered at the 2002 Humana Festival. Her work has been published in over a dozen anthologies including New Playwrights: The Best New Plays of 1999 and The Best American Short Plays 2000-2001. In addition, Playscripts.com has published twelve of her one-acts, which have received over two hundred productions all over the United States as well as in Australia, Denmark, Dubai, Germany, Ireland, Japan and India. She recently completed a Visiting Assistant Professorship in Playwriting at Florida State University’s MFA Dramatic Writing Program in Tallahassee, and is currently teaching at the Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts in New York. She has also conducted playwriting classes and workshops at University of California, Santa Barbara; Cornell University; University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater BFA Actor Training Program; and Whitman College. Two of her plays have been recorded for Playing on Air: Relative Strangers with Debra Monk, Julie Halston and Merritt Wever and The Miracle of Chanukah performed by Zach Appelman, Peter Friedman, Judy Gold, Lisa Joyce and Marcia Jean Kurtz. She attended Cornell University and received her MFA in Playwriting from Columbia University.
